Today we finished our River Puzzle activity. You were also given a handout on Water Uses. You are responsible for knowing the following:
Read pages 480-481 from the textbook.
1. Explain the difference between an instream use of water, and a withdrawal use of water.
2. Please include examples for each of the above (but please be sure to understand the ones you select!)
3. "The fact that we use water does not mean that we actually consume it." Explain this statement.
4. What are some of the advantages and disadvantages using groundwater as a source of fresh water?
5. List four reasons why the demand for water will probably increase in the future.
